Security

At Scyne Advisory, our internal Security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) include a comprehensive process for secure AWS account governance to ensure consistency and security compliance across all customer accounts.

These are managed by our IT teams as well as our Customer-facing Cyber teams. When we create AWS accounts on behalf of customers, the following steps are taken:

Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on the root account to add an extra layer of security
Set account contact information using company details to ensure all communications are directed appropriately
Create CloudWatch alerts to monitor and manage the AWS resources and applications in real time

Scyne Advisory follows a standard approach to access customer-owned AWS accounts using temporary credentials such as IAM roles. For ongoing operational support, we maintain access to a customer-owned AWS account through a cross-account IAM role, in line with AWS best practices.

Our process includes both AWS Management Console access and programmatic access using the AWS Command Line Interface or other custom tools. This process is developed in line with AWS best practices, ensuring secure and compliant access to customer-owned AWS accounts.

Please note that the actual processes may vary based on specific organisational policies and customer requirements, in line with Scyne Advisory's policies. Before we embark on an engagement with a customer, we consult and follow the AWS Well-Architected Framework and best practices for secure AWS account governance and access.
